If you’ve been around for a while you may recall me sharing about the Every Kid in a Park program from the National Park Service but this program is just so amazing that I felt it should be shared again! For those of you who are not familiar, the Every Kid in a Park program…
I enjoy the hunt for a birthday gift that I know the recipient is going to get great pleasure from. I have two boys and grew up with four brothers so I do feel like I have a little bit of an edge when it comes to picking boy gifts. This month I have 3…
I’ve shared my journey with melanoma skin cancer here on the blog over the last 6 years. I kick my 20 year old self when I think about how dumb I was to bake in the sun or at the tanner. My attempts to be a darker shade of white came with a very…
Every year I want to try to make corned beef for St. Patrick’s Day, but I can’t help but think about what a tough cut of meat brisket can be. Tough to cook, tough to chew, you get the idea. I wimp out and don’t make it. In the last few months I have…

I love to cook, but my greatest weakness in the kitchen is getting the meat done right. I have found my Cave Tools meat thermometer to be a great help. We grill a few times a week. I found this thermometer super easy to use. This tool is not only great for grilling, but it…
One of my least favorite things to do is blow dry my hair. I feel like I might die of boredom or a stiff arm. I recently saw a post and video from The Smalls Things Blog and Kate had an honest review that the Dyson $400 dryer wasn’t actually as amazing as one would…
Many people are uneducated about essential oils. Aromatherapy is one of the three ways to use essential oils safely for physical, psychological and spiritual well-being. I personally use doTERRA Essential Oils aromatically, internally and topically. The sense of smell can elicit powerful physiologic, mental, and emotional responses that can change the way we feel or think….
As a parent there are no toys that I enjoy more than the ones that run 100% on imagination. I especially love the non-battery operated toys that can get all three of my kids to play happily together. For these reasons, one of our family’s all time favorite toys to keep in the house are…
