cave tools :: stainless steel marinade meat injector :: garlic butter & bbq pork roast recipe

Cave Tools has been helping me with my meat skills the last few months. You may recall the meat thermometer being a welcome addition to my grilling game. I’ve had so much success with that tool. Now things are really getting fancy in my kitchen with the stainless steel marinade meat injector. Watch out Bobby Flay!

I really struggle to find ways I like to eat pork. Costco had the Pork Roasts on sale recently and I got a 4 pack. Besides making pulled pork for BBQ sandwiches, I’m pretty lame with this cut of meat. I needed to up my pork cooking skills.

The Cave Tools Meat Injector is one fancy piece of kitchen equipment. It looks like it could assist in a surgery or maybe even some medieval torture. I’m teasing of course. It’s a very high quality injector. I’m excited to have such a nice tool to work with when I cook. It’s very easy to take apart and clean and it can be stored in the original packaging as well.

On with the recipe…

Butter Garlic BBQ Pork

  • Melt 1/4 cup butter in a small bowl
  • Add 2 tsp garlic powder
  • Add 1 tsp garlic salt
  • Add a meat seasoning blend of your choice (I used McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Steak)
  • Add 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce

Stir well and then use Meat Injector to insert into your Pork Roast. Once you’ve buttered up the insides of your roast, heat a little olive oil on Medium/High in a Dutch oven. Use more of your meat seasoning blend on the outside of your roast and brown it on all sides (about 1 minute per side). After the meat is browned add a can of chicken stock or broth, cover and cook in oven at 325 degrees for about 20 minutes per pound or until roast is tender. Do you have a Cave Tools meat thermometer? You could use it at the end of this recipe to make sure your roast is done. Let the roast stand for 10 minutes before cutting it.

We make pork roasts a lot for our family. I would love to have a meat injector to make them more tasty.

This Butter Garlic BBQ Pork sounds delicious! We don’t have a meat injector, but I want to get one soon.
