throat tickle soother :: recipe

As excited as I am for all things Fall to arrive I am less than excited about the sore throats that come with the cooler days. Within the past week three out of five people in my house have had colds or sore throats from seasonal allergies and it reminded me to bring out this Throat Tickle Soother that I made up for my family. Disclaimer: I am not a doctor so as always consult with your physician and use common sense before trying anything to cure an illness – this is how I help myself and my family when those dreaded throat tickles show up in our house but it may not be a fit for you.

This super easy recipe takes less than a minute to prepare and all three of my kids will gladly drink it down. It is a bit strong as a combination so feel free to dilute it with warm water if needed but the concentrated version really seems to help us more than a diluted version.

Ingredients ::

  • 5 mL (7 squirts) Colloidal Silver
  • 10 mL fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Tbsp warm water

Mix all ingredients together in a cup with as warm of water as you can easily drink. Sip, chug, or throw back the entire mixture.

When we have sore throats I will make this up multiple times a day to help ease the scratchiness and ease the pain. You can find the colloidal silver in your local health food store or online HERE. Everyone knows that honey and lemon are great to use when you’re sick or have a sore throat but my kids won’t drink large quantities of them with tea so I came up with this condensed version to help them get the benefits without the prolonged whining of having to drink something they don’t love. This is fast and after a few tries they actually seem to like the combination of the honey and lemon flavors in such a strong form.

What tricks do you use to help your family feel better when cold and seasonal allergy season arrive?

    I love this natural recipe. Cold and flu season has certainly started, and I will need to keep this recipe on-hand.
