no-ad 4th of july

It’s almost red-white-and-blue day. Our family is looking forward to celebrating our nation’s independence with a BBQ and pool day. Today I’m trying out a new Taste of Home recipe: Lemon Berry Ice Cream Pie that I’ll garnish with blueberries and strawberries for a festive flare.

no-ad formulas
I’m also prepping our pool bag for our 4th of July festivities. A day in the sun means we need proper protection. I survived melanoma skin cancer and you better believe I’m going to make sure our family stays safe in the sun.

NO-AD Sunscreen is one of my favorite brands. They offer a good variety of formulas and I trust them all. I also appreciate their affordable prices. We use a lot of sunscreen in the summer and this brand doesn’t break my budget.

safety-chart
Recent studies showed that mom’s were not aware of how much sunscreen to use, how often to apply it, and when to apply. It’s recommended to use 1 ounce of sunscreen (for an adult body) 15 minutes before exposure. Re-apply after 80 minutes of swimming or 2 hours in the sun.
no-ad sport spray
NO-AD is a non-greasy formula that applies easily and dries quickly. The aloe, cocoa seed butter, and vitamin E prevents drying and feels great on our skin. We swim almost every day in the summer. NO-AD is ideal for keeping our skin soft, protected, and hydrated.

The Naturals Clear Mineral Baby SPF 50 Lotion is one to consider if you have a precious new bundle this summer. Your baby won’t experience any discomfort from stinging eyes or skin. This non-irritating formula is also pediatrician tested. This formula has no added parabens, alcohol, BPA, propylene glycol, retinyl palmitate, BHT, or dyes. You can pick up this Natural sunscreen for $9.99.

We’ve been fans of the Sport Lotion SPF 50 for many years. It provides broad spectrum protection UVA/UVB and it’s water and sweat resistant for 80 minutes. 16 oz is only $9.99 and the lightweight lotion is very easy to apply.

no-ad kids continuous spray
The kids like the Sport Spray SPF 50 because it’s fast and easy to apply. They are still young enough that I manage their sunscreen application, but I can let them apply it under my supervision. I like to have a spray option so I can apply my own sunscreen to hard to reach places. A good size bottle (8.7 oz) is $9.99.

NO-AD Sport Body & Face Sunscreen Stick looks like deodorant, but it’s a convenient stick. We use this on faces, specifically under the kid’s eyes because they wipe their faces in the water. The stick is a good consistency to stay on their faces better and it’s non-irritating. A 1.5 oz stick is $6.99 and it lasts for a very long time!

no-ad sport stick

For those precious baby cheeks you should consider the Baby Sunscreen Stick SPF 50. It applies smoothly and your baby won’t mind the application. These sticks are great for your lips too! It’s easy to forget to apply sunscreen to your lips.

One more spray sunscreen option is the Kids Continuous Spray Sunscreen SPF 50. It’s designed with active kids in mind. It dries quickly and has an easy one touch applicator. It’s smells like coconut and watermelon and the sprayer works at every angle. This spray bottle is $9.99.

As you go about your 4th of July festivities, please keep up on your sunscreen. If you aren’t stocked up, your most affordable option is NO-AD. NO-AD products are on The Skin Cancer Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation list for Active or Daily Use. Have a safe and wonderful time as you go about celebrating the 4th of July.

I think my favorite memory for the summer would have to be my daughter’s first yearly swim in the pool. She loves swimming and she sleeps so good on the days she goes swimming.

We use a lot of sunscreen when we’re at camp. Everyone in the family has to have their own bottle/can because we’re staying in different cabins. Only my husband and I can share 😊

I haven’t had too many memory-making days yet, but plan to celebrate tomorrow (the 4th) with family and friends. Just a typical backyard bbq party, but fireworks, good food and good company will make it great! Just hope the rain holds off…!

We went to the Omaha zoo last month. Many of the exhibits were indoors, so the sun was only a factor half the time. I think I may have had more issue with the sun on our 15 hour drive to get there!!

My favorite memory in the sun this summer was when my 11 month old niece saw and put her feet in the ocean for the first time.
