create cool cartoons this christmas :: #aSIMPLEchristmas doodle book

Merry Christmas from theSIMPLEmomsLet me start by saying that I love to doodle. I love to draw. But most of what I do is pretty abstract. Maybe a few flowers or paisley, but mostly swoops and swirls and patterns. I, however, am far from a sketch artist! I’m actually pretty terrible at drawing anything that’s a recognizable figure. And I assure you that without a little help, I could never draw a penguin! But when I was flipping through Doodletopia: Cartoons, I saw the little plump penguin and decided that this was the one I wanted to tackle. I followed the step-by-step instructions (ok, maybe I took a little detour because I didn’t want a fish in my picture) and WOW! I totally did it! I drew a penguin (even though he does look a little frightened or something). I got so excited, I drew another one at the bottom!

And my brother-in-law, also not an artist, spent a few minutes following the directions and he ended up drawing this fun little fella.

And my 9 year old drew this flamingo. I’m pretty impressed, aren’t you?

So not only is this something that you can use now, but it’d also be a great gift! Simple enough for young artists, but also still interesting and challenging enough for adults. No talent needed. Just a copy of Doodletopia: Cartoons and a pencil. You even have permission to write and draw in the book!
