taking a cardigan from a ‘work day’ to night look with lands’ end

I try and be very strategic when it comes to adding things to my closet. I don’t have a ton of room, but always enough room to add some essentials…if you know what I mean. I mean, we just make it work! However, I do like to work with items that can be worn often and worn different ways. So, that’s what I’m sharing with you today. Lands’ End is where it’s at this fall, and that’s who all these items are from.

Before I start though, I want to make sure you are aware of their email list. Sign up and you’ll never miss a sale again. I’ve picked up a handful of things, in the past, when I get these emails! My daughter’s back pack for school (amazing I tell ya!!), some boots, a sweater. I’m sure there’s more, that’s off the top of my head…

Back at it. I was sent a handful of things to fit into my daily style. While some of these things I will only be wearing on occasion, I’m sure happy with everything I was sent. Let’s start with the “day/work look”. One that can be worn at the office or even a business meeting. Since I don’t have a daytime job outside of being a mom and running this blog, this is saved for business meetings with my hubby.IMG_0221

Ponte Flounce Skirt Dress // Supima Cardigan Sweater in Orchard Floral // Harris Ankle Boot

There are two items that I was really excited about adding to my closet. First of all, I don’t have a good pair of black booties. I know, it should be a staple! And since I share a lot of fun fashion and styling things on the blog, it’s amazing that I didn’t have a pair I was in love with…yet. That has changed. I can assure you I’m totally digging the Harris Ankle Boots from Lands’ End. I made the mistake of wearing pumps the other night instead of these booties when my husband and I had a business thing to attend to. Never again lol! I’m making these work for EVERY-thing. Ha!IMG_0230IMG_0228

Also, a little black dress. I’ve had a handful of these over the years, but since having four babies, I just need to revolve a bunch of things out. My little black dresses of the past are some of those. I’ve been on the hunt for one that’s flattering and useful for a bunch of different occasions. The Ponte Flounce Skirt Dress had my name written all over it. It is a sleeveless dress so there’s an additional opportunity in the summer month. But can we talk about the twirl factor. Yes, my girls LOVE this!IMG_0226

Next, let’s talk about taking this look to a “night look”, a.k.a. after school activities with the littles. I even wear this running around with them, doing errands and whatnot. I just feel put together and comfortable. Plus, I have an absolute obsession with cardigans AND color. So, there’s that.IMG_0215

Supima Cardigan Sweater in Orchard Floral // 3/4 Sleeve No Iron Shirt in Night Sky Clip Dots // Bianca Ballet Flats in Harvest Tomato

The drastic difference with this look is, not only the dress being away, but the shoes. I think these Harvest Tomato colored Bianca Ballet Flats are superb. I’m always on the look out for some fun accessories and shoes. I think adding a punch of color is always a winning option.IMG_0216

The bottom look will transition really nicely when the temps drop even more than they already have. I have some tall boot that I’ll be wearing a lot this winter that will replace the ballet flats. Yet, the Orchard Floral Cardigan and 3/4 sleeve Night Sky Clip Dots, No Iron Shirt will stay together. Next time, I may experiment a little more with a few different necklace options.

So, talk to me. What do you think of these pieces from Lands’ End for this season? Something you would pick out or try now that you’ve seen it on me?

Ha! I hear ya đŸ™‚ This is a bit longer than I’m used to wearing, but the twirl factor makes up for it. Too fun!
