simply earth :: natural slime

Simply Earth’s July Subscription Box is filled with recipes for your children.   My children have been after me to try their Natural Slime Recipe for a couple of days now, and I finally let my son make his.  This was the first time he has made anything like this.  Occasionally he will help me bake, but not too often.  My son is only six so I have to be in the right mind set to let him cook.

INGREDIENTS:

• Warm Water
• Psyllium Husk Powder
• Cornstarch
• Tangerine Essential Oil
• Lavender Essential Oil
• Natural Food Coloring
• Fractionated Coconut Oil

The best part about these subscription boxes is that the ingredients not included in your box are ingredients that most people already have.  I needed water, Fractionated Coconut Oil, natural food coloring and Corn Starch.

Once you have measured out all of your ingredients, you can begin stirring them to make sure you don’t have any clumping.  Then all you have to do is set your timer for 8 minutes and wait for your Slime to be ready.

I love seeing my children get excited about doing something all-by-themselves!  It was fun watching his reaction to the Natural Slime being created.  Especially when it started bubbling…he wanted to be sure it was okay for it to be doing that.  I would recommend a medium size boiler just to be sure it stays in the pot.
