When it comes to ‘pet care’ Simply Earth has your pet’s best interest in mind.  When they were planning for their May subscription box they looked for oils that would be safe to use around animals.  This month’s recipes were Fur & Skin Conditioner, Pet Odor Eliminator Spray, Paw Balm, Itchy Skin Roll-On, Anti-Anxiety Diffuser, and Tick & Mosquito Collar.  I mentioned Tick and Mosquito Collar in my post last week and I want to focus on Fur and Skin Conditioner this week.

Simple Earth

Simply Earth’s Fur and Skin Conditioner uses Almond Oil, Juniper Berry Essential Oil, Ginger Essential Oil, Citronella Essential Oil and a one ounce container.  Once all the ingredients are combined into the air-tight container you massage a small amount into your pet’s coat to help balance and lock in their natural skin oil.  This would also be great to add to dry patches of skin.  I know my girl’s skin get irritated during the summer months when the pollen is highest.  Always remember to check with your veterinarian before you begin using new products to make sure they are safe for your breed.

Here are some basic tips when introducing essential oils to your pet(s)::

  • Allow your pet to smell the recipe before applying it.
  • Always leave an ‘escape’ for your pet when using essential oils so that they can leave the room if it bothers them.
  • Start small and slowly when introducing essential oils into your pet care routine for the best experience for your beloved furry one.
