rampshot :: the next big thing in outdoor games

rampshotlogoSpring is finally here!  For those of you who had a long winter like I did, you’re probably spending as much time as possible outside now.  For our family, spring and summer are the perfect time to entertain outside.  We frequently will invite neighbors over for  a backyard game night.  We will get out a few yard games, set up a kick ball field and spend the evening playing.  This spring we will have a new backyard game to play–RampShot.

010RampShot is a brand new outdoor game made for four people.  My husband and I can play with our two older children or we can make teams with our neighbors.  While RampShot is intended for players ages 10 and up, my 7 and 9-year-olds play with us and, admittedly, my son got more triples (3 points) than anyone else in our most recent game.  Teammates stand on opposite sides and can score points by tossing or catching.  Because players on each side are engaged in the game, there is less wait time than many other backyard games. Since RampShot can be played in the grass or sand, this will also be a great game to bring along to the beach this summer.  Instead of trying to explain the game myself, here is a video highlighting how the game is played.  Fun, right?  Very little standing around and enough action to keep my very active kids engaged!

013Made and designed in the USA, RampShot is portable and lightweight but is also designed to last.  The ramps take up very little room, so we are able to easily store it in our garage and bring it along with us when we head to the beach.  We even plan on bringing it on our family beach vacation this year.  If you are hoping to add to your outdoor game repertoire, RampShot would make a great addition.  I also know quite a few dads who would appreciate this dad-friendly game this Father’s Day.   What do you like best about RampShot?

I wish we had a big grassy field like you have, but all we have is desert. I would love to play this if we had grass.

Danielle, you can definitely still play in the desert! I plan on bringing it to the beach with us this summer. As long as you have a narrow stretch, you can play! We love our backyard, too. It’s what sold us on this particular house. But I will say, it’s covered in snow half of the year!
