For years it seemed that winter family time = board games indoors and summer family time = outdoor play. Rarely crossing over. Until now…
Tactic Games has bridged that playtime gap with their fun line of outdoor games, including an extra large yard version of the popular dice game — Yatzy!
The large, light weight wooden dice of XL Yatzy make playing a few rounds of Yatzy in the yard on a warm summer night so much fun! Of course my kids think it’s just as fun to use the XL Yatzy game indoors, too, because extra large dice are always more fun!
Another game my kids have fallen in loves with is Mölkky. Mol-what? Mölkky!
Popular in Nordic countries, Mölkky is a simple game of ‘knock down the pins’. Each pin has a number on it. Knock down multiple pins and your score is how many pins you’ve knocked down. Knock down just one pin and your score is the number on that pin. Go for fun and just knock as many down as you can OR play the strategy and try to go for those single, high scoring pins. But, careful! Knock down another pin with your high-scoring pin and your possible score of 12 just went down to a 2 or 3!
The light-weight wood makes it easy for even my little guy to join in the fun! And I love that it really makes our girls work on their hand-eye coordination as they aim for those high-humber pins without knocking any other pins over.
The best part about the Tactic Games outdoor games is that they are so easy to use that my kids can set them up and play all on their own. Great for those long summer days at home! We’re also looking forward to taking them with us camping next month to share with our friends. Some fun for the kids and some friendly competition for the adults!
You can fiend XL Yatzy, Mölkky, and more outdoor games, as well as a ton of fun board games (for those rainy summer days when you don’t want giant wooden dice thrown around your living room) at tactic.net!

It is always great to see moms that talk about taking the children out to have a good time. You can easily keep them occupied indoors with different baby toys but the outdoors are so important for proper development. Children are always happier when they play outdoors and it is always great to see games like these from Tactic.
