Travel credentials:

We are self-proclaimed, travelling with children, flying professionals. We fly 2x a year with all 3 of our kids. My husband made a deal with my mom when we got married that he would bring me “home” to Michigan for regular visits. From the moment we started dating, my mom was super concerned because he was from the far, far away land of California. He’s a very good man and has held up his end of the deal. As we just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary in July, I realized we’ve made over 25 trips from California to Michigan.

Those trips have been disastrous at times as we’ve learned to travel with kids. You name it, it’s happened to us. Did you know you can’t reach above your head to use the call button for the flight attendant when you are holding your child’s barf in your hands?!? I think that’s my most memorable fail of a flight. Anyhow, I’m always on the hunt for ways to make our lives easier when we travel. Let me get on with the good stuff….the Lugabug!

Lugabug:

I was in LOVE with the idea of the Lugabug. It’s a compact seat that attaches to your suitcase. It’s light, small, and makes for convenient cruising through the airport. Not only were we travelling diaper free for the first time in 7 years, but we ditched the stroller too. All thanks to the Lugabug!

Pack a rolling suitcase:

We pack a carry-on every time we travel. I suggest you do the same if you fly with children. Have a day’s worth of clothing for each family member, a pair of PJ’s, toothbrush, comb, and phone chargers in that carry on. If you are prepared to get stuck somewhere, it’s less likely to happen. That’s my philosophy anyways. It helps if you arrive at your destination without your luggage for a day or two as well.

That carry-on is going to be even more handy when you strap on the Lugabug. It’s easy to clip on, acts as an outside pocket when it’s zipped up, it’s light, and then it opens up to a handy little seat for your weary little travelers. No lie, because of the Lugabug, we made our connecting flight when we flew in July.

Here’s our dramatic story:

We had to make a mad dash with our 8, 6, and 2 year old. If we had to wait for our stroller, our flight would have been gone. Instead, we quickly got off our plane and ran like the wind to our connecting flight which was 20 gates away. We were the last people on the plane and they were seconds from closing the door. I was the choked up lady thanking people for their patience and gasping for air as I got to my seat. I tried to not notice the 300 sets of eyes staring at us. We must have looked pathetic enough because I heard a lady say, “oh, I’m glad we waited for them.”  Without a doubt in my mind, every second was precious and our Lugabug saved us time and helped us quickly maneuver through the airport.

Where can you get one right this minute?!

Lugabug just finished their production of these fabulous seats and you can shop HERE. They have 2 stylish choices (boy or girl), and I promise they are worth their weight in gold. (So to speak, they are light!) 🙂 The customer service is top notch and you have 30 days to return your Lugabug in the original condition (but you won’t want to return it). Meet the brilliant owners in this VIDEO.
