family time fun with board games from ravensburger and wonder forge

About six months ago my kids and I sorted through our board game collection and found new homes for all but their most cherished favorites. Sadly the games they loved playing during their preschool years just weren’t able to entertain them now that they’ve turned into “big kids!” With this in mind I have been looking for games that are age appropriate for them now but that will also allow for some challenge and growth. Thanks to some new selections from Ravensburger and Wonder Forge that involve a few of our favorite characters I think we have some hits!

Despicable Me Labyrinth from Ravensburger
My minions and I have been having a lot of fun playing the new Despicable Me Labyrinth game from Ravensburger, and it isn’t just because of our favorite characters on the game board! My girls are learning to strategize their game play and sometimes adjust their plan as they move their game piece around in this ever-changing game. I’m just excited to play a game that is as fun for an adult as it is for the kids! While every player is taking turns shifting the game tiles it can make for an interesting game as you try to find a clear path to your favorite movie characters. For 2-4 players, ages 7 to 99.

Despicable Me 3 Linked Up Game from Wonder Forge
As fans of the “Despicable Me” franchise since the first movie my family is excitedly waiting for the next installment to arrive. Thankfully, while we wait we have the new Wonder Forge Despicable Me 3 Linked Up Game to help tide us over. Easy to learn, fun to play, for 2-4 players, ages 6+ this is a fun strategy game for the whole family. Each player will use the various sized links to connect two of the dots on the board and then take the cards that match the pictures they linked. Once a player has 4 of the same cards they have won the game! The trick is finding available paths to connect those dots as the board starts to fill because you cannot cross the links!

Elena of Avalor Flight of The Jaquins Game from Wonder Forge
If you have Disney princess lovers in your house the new Elena of Avalor Flight of the Jaquins Game from Wonder Forge is for you. This game is for 2-3 players, ages 5+, but it does contain three different levels of play. The goal of this game is to fly your Jaquin around the board on a treasure hunt. Once my girls have mastered Level 1 they are excited play Levels 2 and 3, but no matter what level they play I know that the Jaquin game pieces and pop up cardboard castle on the game board will always make them glad to get this game out!
