In safety

cruisin’ in my cadillac

As y’all know I have two children playing travel ball, and now my husband has decided for our third child to play. Most weekends my husband goes one way with our son and I go the opposite with our daughters. During these trips I’ve been driving my Jeep Rubicon. Jeeps are not known for being great on gas mileage nor are they known as a luxury ride. Don’t get me wrong I love my Jeep, but I’ve missed having a family suv that can accommodate my children and others. My husband surprised me with a new to me Cadillac Escalade to make these trips more enjoyable and also safer. Before travel ball we didn’t go places much because we are self-employed and always working, but now our business has grown and we have employees to help us.

I will be making my first trip in my NEW {to me} 2017 Cadillac Escalade next Friday! My eldest daughter has a soccer tournament and this will be a good four hour trip to the coast of South Carolina. I’m sure it will be a much nicer drive in my Cadillac than it would have been in my Jeep. For those of you that do not know I drove a Suburban before the Jeep. The Jeep was originally purchased for my 15 year old daughter and she decided she wanted to drive our older model Chevy Silverado. SO. . . now it is my turn to get a vehicle that is suitable to mom with three kids.

We’ve only had the Cadillac a week, but it has been great! I picked up four kids from the school the other day and I had my employee’s son with me as well. Everyone had enough room and still had an available seat for another child. We are always taking our children’s friends somewhere and my children are 8, 11 and 16.

I have been watching YouTube videos to see how to work all the features. So far my favorite features are the safety features to detect the surrounding cars on the road with you. I thought that after driving the Jeep for the past couple of years it would be hard for me to drive a larger vehicle, but so far I haven’t even noticed. However I did drive the Suburban before the Jeep. The Escalade isn’t as long as the Suburban.

My next favorite features are the rear and front cameras to help you park and back up. You know without guessing that you have plenty of room to pull in or out of a parking space.  If you are looking to upgrade the Cadillac Escalade is a great choice for a family.
