counter culture diy :: rick’s mix 16 oz complete starter pack

I love working with all of the great products that Counter Culture DIY has to offer! This was my first time working with Rick’s Mix and I love the fluidity of the paint. It is the perfect consistency to see movement when you move your surface.  The colors are so vibrant.

Rick’s Mix 16 oz Complete Starter Kit includes TEN 16 oz bottles of each of the following colors: Lapis Blue, Coal Black, Daffodil Yellow,  Alabaster  White,  Cherry Blossom Red, Lilac,  Mandarin, Surf’s Up, Heavy White,  Heavy Black.

I used Lapis Blue, Heavy White, Cherry Blossom Red and Surf’s Up. Recently we have been remodeling my daughters room and I thought these colors would compliment her room design. I really thought they turned out well.  If you want to move the paint around more you can just blow the paint into the direction that you want it to go to create even more interesting effects.  Just remember not to use too many colors at once so that you have a chance to appreciate the colors you chose.

Rick Cheadle says, “I worked extensively to create a product that was versatile enough to use in a multitude of projects. Not just fluid art/paint pouring. I create a lot of mixed media projects on different substrates and I wanted a versatile paint for all my projects.”

This is a great product to create more loose paintings. I really enjoyed watching the colors blend and move about the wood.  Each piece is a work of art and the colors did not muddy at all.  I really enjoyed working with Rick’s Mix and will do so again in the future and I can’t wait to try a square surface.
