Back in August I shared with you guys about how we were going to experiment with letting my oldest daughter pack her own lunches this school year. I wanted to take a quick moment to give you a report on how that was going now that we’re six weeks into the school year.

Overall, it’s going pretty well. Some days she just doesn’t want to do it so I end up making it for her, no big deal. But the whole idea has got my younger daughter wanting to make her own lunch as well. Which has been kind of fun!

They have their guidelines as to what they need to include in their lunch box {i.e. it can’t be packed full of snacks} and they know what cupboard they can choose items from.

But mostly it’s the Fit & Fresh lunch boxes that are really helping!

I shared about the Fit & Fresh Kids’ Bento Lunch Kit with Insulated Carrier in that earlier post and it’s really been fabulous! Those individual compartments in the bento kit helps remind the girls the different items they need to include in their lunch — a sandwich or some leftovers from dinner, a fruit or veggie, and a snack. But we’re also loving the other containers that Fit & Fresh has to offer.

With our house filled with apples right now, Kids’ Dip N’ Dunk Snack Container is by far our most used container! And it’s so cool!

The main area of the container holds a perfect sized portion of fruits or veggies while an additional container snaps on the top that can hold veggie dip, fruit dip, hummus or {my girls’ favorite} caramel. Then, in true Fit & Fresh fashion, the Kids’ Dip N’ Dunk Snack Container includes a snap on top that holds a small removable ice pack.

The kids absolutely love using this container and I’m sure we’ll continue to get lots of use out of it even after the apples are gone! Although all my kids can think about is apples, apples and more apples right now!

And at just $5 per container, this is one that you’ll definitely want to stock up on and keep handy throughout the year. Not only for lunches but for snacks on the go!

These are really nice containers to help with making lunches and I like that there is a container that holds dip! They are not expensive and I need to get some of them.
