After a long, cold Winter that left us spending a lot of time indoors, we are definitely happy that Spring and warmer weather have officially arrived! But that long, cold Winter has left our bookshelves picked over and kids getting bored with our current reading selection. {I guess that can happen when you’ve read all…
Ok, SIMPLE moms and dads, it’s time for a little confessional here. I have no idea when the smoke detectors in our house received new batteries! Absolutely no idea. I can take a guess…they are somewhere between 2 (when we moved in) and 28 years old (when our house was built). Yikes! We just never think…
I have high hopes for March. After a bitter cold January and February that seemed like they would never end, I just want temperatures above freezing and to see the sun again. And, if March would like to melt all this snow, well I wouldn’t be arguing with that at all! But I’ve also lived…

Because I have the perfect box for you!! When I first came across NerdBlock.com, I was instantly excited! While I’m not hardcore Comic…
With Spring Break and a family road trip coming up in just a few weeks, I’m on a mission to give our iPad app library an overhaul! With all three kids sharing the iPad and often times playing at the same time, I need to find apps that bridge the gap (learning and interest) between…
Get ready for all new revved up adventure with Chuck, the dump truck, and his four-wheeling friends We are no strangers to “The Adventures of Chuck & Friends” in our house. And by “it”, I mean creates a whole other superhero world! Co-creator of such comic book successes like Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic-Four, Iron Man, and the…
Confession :: I am not a die hard football fan. I’m actually not even an occasional football fan. I enjoy the occasional live game (but it’s more about the atmosphere than it is the game) but I can count on one hand how many times I’ve sat down and watched an entire football game on…
When I first heard about this new iPad game called Osmo, I immediately brushed it off as “just another iPad game”. But then I started seeing more info pop up about it and watched a video or two showing Osmo in action. My curiosity started to peak. Then, this past Christmas, my parents gifted Osmo…
I’ve never been much for setting New Year’s Resolutions, for various reasons. I might set a few goals for the new year {for some reason “goals” sound better than “resolutions”} but one thing I’ve made a practice doing since my kids were toddlers was making a list of adventures we wanted to go on in…
Between putting away the Christmas decorations and finding places for the new Christmas presents, I often find myself unintentionally doing a New Year purge on our house. And somewhere amongst the bags of outgrown toys and books and clothes, I find myself holding on to a few things that I just don’t want to toss…
From my family to yours, we hope that your Christmas is joyous and blessed and your New Year is full of fabulous adventures!
