winter isn’t giving up and neither is the showstopper mitten! :: review

I have high hopes for March. After a bitter cold January and February that seemed like they would never end, I just want temperatures above freezing and to see the sun again. And, if March would like to melt all this snow, well I wouldn’t be arguing with that at all!

But I’ve also lived in the MidWest long enough to know that just because March marks the start of Spring, we can still experience plenty of Winter weather!

This is also about the same time when we start noticing un-mendable holes in gloves and mittens and snow pants. Boots that are now missing their liners and jackets that have magically shrunk over the past four months, leaving little wrists and arms exposed to the cold.

Thanks to the SnowStoppers Mittens from Veranda Outdoors we’re at least able to combat a few of those problems as winter decides to drag on!

Not only does the nylon outer shell of the mittens resist the snow, ice and water, but the Thinsulate Insulation makes the inside comfy and warm!

But what really sets the SnowStoppers Mittens apart from the rest are the extra long cuffs that help protect little wrists and arms that often get exposed to the cold as little ones play. Those extra long cuffs even help keep the mittens from falling off!

What I love about the SnowStoppers Mittens is that, despite those extra long cuffs, they are not bulky or uncomfortable for kids. So my kids love wearing them. And, because those cuffs help protect their wrists and arms and prevent snow from getting into their mitts, they actually enjoy being outside a little more. They are also very helpful as I’m noticing my son’s coat sleeves getting a little short on him, allowing us to “stretch” that winter coat just a few more weeks and getting us through the winter.

Of course Veranda Outdoors wants the whole family to enjoy the snow while it lasts so they also create a fun SnowStopper Mitten for moms and dads that feature flip-top design. Flip back the top of your eMitt and you’ll find a glove liner that covers your fingers that also features touchscreen compatible fingertips. Whether you need access to your fingers to help zip a zipper or use your camera to snap a picture of the kids sledding, you can totally do that with the eMitt.

And I love that the eMitt also includes the extra-long cuff design like the SnowStoppers. A warm mama is a happy mama!

We’re trying to teach my daughter to ski, and one of the most frustrating parts is getting her mittens to stay on! She’s constantly complaining of her wrists being cold. I will definitely think about getting these for next year!
