“I used JOHNSON’S® on my little one, as discussed below as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars, yet all opinions are still my own. #johnsonspartners #SoMuchMore
In the hustle and bustle of day to day activities, it’s hard to take in the little things. The moments that make you smile. The moments that take your breath away when you really think about how quickly time passes. In our house, I stay home with the kiddos while Daddy brings home the bacon. Except, our house is a little different as my husband works from a home office. We consider that to be a major blessing…because he has been there for so many of the little things in the lives of our kids. From when they were newborn babies to our now 9 year old. Geesh, how time flies!
While I try not to take advantage of the fact that I do have him more readily available than many Dad’s out there, I DO take advantage of the little things that he is able to do. Because some day the little things are going to be the big things.
He reads books at lunch time with the baby before she goes down for a nap. That is a special part of our day because he takes a fairly regular lunch with us. It doesn’t happen every day of the work week, but we take it as much as we can get it.
We do mid-day bath time too! I’ve never been one to have the kids require a bath before bed. Now, when they are dirty little monsters, yes, a bath is necessary. But, if it’s just a general bath, we pop those in the middle of the day. Dad has been able to take part in lots of bath time fun! I recently learned that, globally, 54% of dads are the primary bathers in their households. I think that has so much to do with Dads being home more often these days. And, the best part about bath time with Dad? It’s different and WAY more laid back than with Mom. Mom has rules…Dad mainly has fun. They just love it!
Plus, the fun never fails to show up at bath time. Bubble bath is an essential part of the fun! Using JOHNSON’S® baby bubble bath is our go-to when big bubbles are required and I personally LOVE the extra gentle NO MORE TEARS® formula. It’s even formulated so it’s safe enough to use once per day on your little boy or girl. Winning!
Walks with the kids instead of talking at the water cooler. Just admit it, so much time is spent talking at work. Instead of talking with co-workers at the cooler, we get to have him come up the stairs and take a little break with us. During the fun summer months, that means walks outside…because that’s where you find us.
We do feel super-duper blessed to have our Daddy here with us. While yes, he’s working, we feel we get to see him a lot more than if he had to go in to a job daily. This year for Father’s Day, we celebrate this daddy and all that he has done and continues to do for us. From the little things to the big things.
I wanted to with all you Dads a very Happy Father’s Day too – a couple days early. I hope you are going to be spoiled mightily and you can enjoy all the blessings in your life, may they be big or small.
