I have another free app to share with you.

It’s the youversion app. It’s a Bible, a Bible reading planner, and a resource to study and learn the Bible. Better yet, you can use it on your smartphone or the computer.

How do I use this app?

  • Well, in church I whip out my iPhone to play Candy Crush….wrong….I open youversion and I follow along with the sermon. The BIBLE feature very easy to navigate to the Scripture the pastor is preaching on. I’m a mom of 3 kids. This means I have Sunday school papers, diaper bags, a purse, and an 18 pound baby to carry into church. I am carrying my phone in my purse anyways, so it’s convenient at this stage in life to use this app instead of carrying my Bible.
  • youVersionThe TODAY feature is a quick read. It’s a verse of the day. How many of you wake up and grab your iPhone? Guilty. Actually, my sleep app wakes me up and I have to pick up my phone to tell it to snooze. When I do officially wake up for the day, I read the verse of the day and then hit the ground running.
  • The PLANS feature is my favorite. There are endless categories of Bible reading plans. I could do reviews on the plans I have done, but here are a few to start with: Women In The Bible, Parenting by Design, and Talking with God in Prayer. The first plan is for me, the second for me and my husband (in the ideal world we would do it together every day), and the last one is with the kids. I used to try to read through the Bible in a year (nothing wrong with that), but I have enjoyed these plans to slow down and study the passages. I read the Women In the Bible when Charlie eats his first bottle of the day. Parenting By Design is during naptime. Talking with God in prayer is a good bedtime plan with the kids or a family devotion time at dinner.
  • There is also an AUDIO feature where it will read aloud to you. If you are a mom, you are a multi-tasker. I hate it that there are days I have to multi-task while reading the Bible, but it’s nice to get ready in the morning with someone reading my devotions to me! I have had the audio feature going while I take a shower too. It’s a good way to live out Philippians 4:8 and think on things that are true, noble, just, pure, and lovely. I want to hear what God’s Word has to say to me and this app is helping me in great ways.
  • Youversion sends me a REMINDER if I haven’t read the Bible yet for the day. I always jump up when my phone dings (terrible habit). It’s a good thing when it’s telling me “Did you read your Bible yet today?”

This is a great place to start a Bible reading routine and good app to keep growing in God’s Word. Read, listen, watch, and share the Bible. You can also read my review on the Pocket Prayer app if you find this post interesting.
