xia-xia :: crazy crabs to collect and trade {giveaway}

Xia-Xia are skitter-scattering, pitter-pattering, loveable, crazy crabs with shells and kooky friends to collect and trade.

I had the opportunity to receive some Xia-Xia‘s before they hit the shelves in stores.  My goodness these things are cute! From the moment I saw them I knew my girls would like them.  And I was right.  We had a friend over and since the weather wasn’t too lovely outside, I decided to dive into the box and let the girls go crazy.  And that they did! We got one of each of the new Xia-Xia’s (4 total to collect) as well as 4 Xia-Xia shells and multiple playsets for these fun little creatures. The girls carried them around as if they were little kittens.  All fragile and gentle. We did have a little accident where a leg fell off of one of the Xia-Xia’s, but it was easily fixable.  Phew! I was actually pretty impressed that we were able to fix it because they do look pretty fragile.  The was the only accident we had with my 5 year old, 2 year old and my friend’s 2 year old.  These toys are for ages 4 and up, but since our younger ones don’t have any problems with putting things in their mouths, we let them play while we supervised.

From a far away land where the Carnivale runs all day, Xia-Xia are crazy crustaceans, who love to dance and play. Costumed in wild and wacky shell fashions, Xia-Xia love to change their shells for their festivities. Press their claw and the parade begins; Xia-Xia have a wacky Xia-Xia shuffle that is tons of fun to watch.

These new  colorful, collectible creatures combine the loveable charm of a real hermit crab but add a twist of imagination. Each Xia-Xia comes with a candy colored shell in which kids can fi­nd a little friend hidden inside. Additional shells can be purchased so children can style their Xia-Xia in their favorite fashions. For an added bonus, each additional shell contains two little friends. Xia-Xia have colorful playsets, bringing alive a world of color, magic, and imagination for kids to enjoy!

We were also sent three playsets.  Super cute – and goodness do they get my girls’ imagination going.  There is the Confetti Cottage, Rio de Trio Village Playset and the Copacabana Playset. Here they are:

One last thing I want to mention.  There are 12 shells that attach to these little creatures, and in each shell, there is a little “guy/friend” just hanging out.  The kids LOVED these!
