tips for styling a child’s hair {#TangleTalk #JohnsonsPartners}

This post features JOHNSON’S® products I was given, and sharing some knowledge and stories I’ve learned along the way. All opinions are my own! #johnsonspartners #SoMuchMore

It’s absolutely crazy to me that my little baby doll is old enough to have her precious, baby-smooth hair brushed and sometimes, styled already. Seems like just yesterday I was yearning for her to have hair long enough for me to put a little ponytail on the top of her head. You know, those ADORABLE ones where they have a sprout coming out? Yah, totally those. Not only do I think these are beyond adorable, but my three other girls couldn’t wait for the day. Every time I do this to our baby (who is 18 months old now, WHAT!!), her older sisters follow with a loud and very proud, awwww!!!Johnson's So Much More #TangleTalk CollageMy four girls all have very different hair. Kensington’s is very thin and fine at this point…and still has the baby curls. So adorable! My oldest’s hair is thick and has a FANtastic body wave to it. The other two have pretty, straight hair, except one is extremely long and brown and the other is blonde, fairly thin and ‘getting’ long.  That being said, they all have a LOT of hair and it takes time after baths and showers to get that combed out, etc. Some think of this as a daunting task, and to be honest, on the bad days it truly is. All days aren’t sunshine and rainbows, #AMIRIGHT? On the good days we have a blast with this. All the girls gather in the bathroom together (yes, I know, my time is ticking away as my oldest is getting older and soon won’t want to do this). For now though, we are having some fun! We sing and laugh and the older sisters make faces in the mirror at the younger sisters. Then the younger sisters attempt to make the faces back. Oh boy the things that happen in the bathroom lol! We talk about long hair, short hair, wet hair, dry hair, brown hair, blonde hair. It’s like a Dr. Seuss book in the making! IMG_8618 There are three consistent things we do throughout this whole ‘getting ready’ process and JOHNSON’S® products have been there through it all. Even now as the girls are getting older. It is so much more than baby shampoo. For example, here is our routine, including the older girls who no longer have the baby-fine hair:Did you know Johnson's had all this

    1. CLEANSE :: The girls use JOHNSON’S® shampoo & conditioner for thin/straight hair or JOHNSON’S® shampoo & conditioner for thick/curly hair. I love that JOHNSON’S® shampoo & conditioner doesn’t weigh down the girls’ hair and leaves in light and weightless and easy to comb after bath.
    2. NOURISH :: We use JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® leave-in conditioner and the JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® detangling spray when it’s necessary. Sometimes more often than others. 🙂 I do love that, again, there is no weighted down feeling of product in their hair. It doesn’t affect any styling we may be doing from that point on.
    3. STYLE :: From time to time I also use the JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® detangling spray on the baby. Her hair can get so tangly due to those adorable curls I have mentioned. A little spray of this and we are on the track of tangle free hair. I think I definitely do have an advantage in styling my 18 month olds’ hair. She is used to seeing this event take place almost daily with her older sisters. She is wanting to copy her sisters, she wants to do what they do. She wants to stand on the stool to get her hair brushed. And on and on. So, when it’s time for her to get her sprout put in, she sits and does it. Most times at least.
