tiny tap :: {free} kids and family app :: review

I’m always looking for educational apps for the kids. I must add that I hate to pay for apps. Basically I refuse! My children (ages 6, 4, and 1) have really enjoyed the Tiny Tap app. That’s impressive that an app can be fun for such a wide age range. This is more than an app of games for kids though. It’s a way for kids, parents, and teachers to create and learn together. We were able to make games as a family with our own camera roll. The older two help me make the games for our 1 year old Charlie. For instance, we took a picture of Charlie and asked questions (yup, with our voices). “Charlie, where is your nose?” Then we circle the nose and when he touches his nose on the picture, it applauds. If he answers incorrectly, we can record a message for the oops moments too. It’s extra personal since we created it with our own photos and audio.

Remember that part about how I hate to pay for apps. This app is FREE! You can start playing with it right away too. You don’t have to take the time to create your own games at the very start. We like the Counting Monsters Game which has a cute British accent narrating it. There is also The Big Brain Bender and Who is Bigger. These are excellent interactive games for your toddlers.

It’s a great app for kids to play, older kids to create games, teachers to make correlating activities for the classroom, parents to play with a younger child, etc. Be sure to check out THIS TUTORIAL to learn more about how to create your own game within the app with videos. It’s a really fun new feature that opens up a whole new creative world.

Turn moments into games in your home.

Looks like a great FREE app. I like that it can be used for many ages of kids and that you can make your own games.
