the odd life of timothy green :: review

Disney’s “The Odd Life of Timothy Green,” one of the year’s most uplifting and enchanting family films, springs up on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, High Definition Digital and On-Demand platforms on December 4, 2012. It’s the perfect, must- own family-film for audiences of all ages to enjoy and snuggle up to this coming holiday season.

Upon reading that I went and watched it.  I am a believer now that the film is for all ages, including as young as my Lili who is 6-years old.

Here is a little synopsis on the film, a very bare bones, get you intrigued synopsis…
From Academy Award-nominated writer/director Peter Hedges (Dan in Real Life, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape), and starring Golden Globe® winner Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, Oscar® winner Dianne Wiest and CJ Adams as Timothy Green, comes this highly imaginative story about a happily married couple who can’t wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. Then one stormy night young Timothy shows up on their doorstep. Soon they and the small town in which they live learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life’s greatest gifts. The story is written by Ahmet Zappa (“American Gangster,” “Changeling”).

Jennifer Garner is stunning as usual.  Adorable character and portrays the wonderful yearning for motherhood figure that so many are wanting these days.  I am a massive fan of Jennifer Garner as well as I adore Joel Edgerton.  I first saw him in Warrior and…amazing.  The characters they portray in this movie, they do a great job as well.  In addition, all the friends that I have talked to that have seen this flick have nothing but great things to say!

All in all, this is a very nice movie to watch with your family. I will say, I had tears.  Tears more than once…I am a major softy!!  It hits deep on parenting emotions.  We watched it for a special family night with Mike, Lilianna and I. It was “deep” for her, but not so deep that she didn’t follow along.  She just didn’t feel the emotions, I’m sure, that I was feeling.  I think it was a great flick!

Make it a wonderful day…and “Have the day you have!”
