We are a full-fledged princess house. Since my oldest daughter turned 2 (she is almost 6 now), she has been obsessed with anything involving princesses. Castles, wands, glass slippers, crowns….no royal paraphernalia is off limits. Now that we have two little girls (my youngest just turned 1 last week), I do not see any end to the princess mania. So when I was asked to check out Nickelodeon’s Winx Club: Magical Adventure and introduce my girls to something other than princesses, I jumped at the chance. In case you haven’t checked out the television series, Winx Club is about a group of magical fairies who work together to defeat the evil around them. My eldest immediately fell in love with this series and has been asking to watch it almost every day since. The best part of this 2-disc set is that on top of the main feature, Winx Club: Magical Adventure, you also get 7 bonus episodes of the Nick series as well. Score! Bloom discovers what it’s like to live as a princess of Domino. Her joy is multiplied when Sky asks her to attend a ball with him! However, Bloom’s happiness is short lived when Sky is forbidden by his own father to escort her. Meanwhile, the evil Ancestral Witches who had once destroyed Domino join forces with the Trix to erase all positive magic from the Magic Dimension. To reverse the effects of the Witches’ reign of darkness, the Winx and Specialists must travel to the cursed city of Avram and battle their foes.
We have really enjoyed watching both the movie and the episodes included on the DVD. Each fairy possesses their own unique persona and magical characteristics and it is just super fun to watch them explore their powers and grow together. Pick up a copy for the fairy (or princess) lover in your life! She will love it!
