swing into summer reading with new releases from skyhorse publishing

The final countdown is on until my kids are officially on Summer Vacation and, while I’m looking forward to slowing down our pace for a few months, playing in the yard and lazy days at the beach, I also know that we’ll quickly be shifting into the “I’m Bored!” Days of Summer.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally ok with my kids experiencing some boredom and them figuring out ways to combat that boredom, but I also want to make sure we have some good options for them, too.

One of those options is a well stocked home library with fun new books for the Summer! And we are loving these new releases from Skyhorse Publishing’s Sky Pony Press!

After a busy Summer day of playing, it’s always nice to settle down into bed with a good book. And “Always There Bear” is definitely the book for that! Such a sweet, gentle story that will soothe little ones as they snuggle into bed.

Whether your little one has their own bear that goes everywhere with them or another stuffed animal, blanket, or lovie, they will absolutely love the story of “Always There Bear“.

Megan Owlet by Beth Anne Maresca

One of our favorite things about Summer is that it gives my kids the opportunity to try out new things and discover new sports or activities through Summer camps and classes. But for little ones, that can be a time of confusion and uncertainty. What do I like to do? What if I don’t like it? What if I can’t do it?

Megan Owlet” explores all those questions as little Megan tries to discover what it is she wants to do and the joy of having others there to cheer you on.

The Mystery Hat by Rune Brandt Bennicke & Jakob Hjorth Jensen

Go on an investigative adventure with Pig, Crow, and Beaver as they discover a hat lying in a puddle while on a hike. Read along as they explain each of their theories as they try to figure out who the hat belongs to and how it got there. Then discover for yourself the truth behind “The Mystery Hat“!

Adorable story full of mystery and laughter, perfect for preschool and early elementary readers.

My Dinosaur is More Awesome! by Simon Coster

My son is obsessed with dinosaurs. He’s always asking and imagining what different dinosaurs liked to do when they were alive. And that’s exactly what this book is about.

When Joel & Olivia sit down for dinner and they each have their favorite dinosaur in hand, the competition begins! Comparing all their dinosaurs “talents” and “special gifts”, they set out to determine whose dinosaur is the best. That is, until a third dinosaur comes to the table and trumps them all!

Adorable story told in rhyme coupled with colorful and hilarious illustrations — “My Dinosaur is More Awesome!” is definitely my son’s new favorite book!

These look like really good books for kids. My nephews would love them and it would give them something else to do this summer that is educational.
