shutterfly photo story for iPad, beyond easy to use! : review and giveaway

*I am participating a program to share this new Shutterfly app with you. I will or have received a promotional item*

I have a NEW favorite way to create photo books.  And you guys…it took me TEN MINUTES to create!!!  I am not exaggerating in order to sell you on this fabulous option from Shutterfly.  It really did only take 10 minutes. Yesterday, I downloaded the Shutterfly app on my iPad.  Trust me, click that link and get the download started.  By the time you are done reading this post, you will want to go try it on your own!

Upon download, I was able to start my photo book immediately after I logged in to Shutterfly.com via the app.  OK…let’s dig in a little deeper so I can show you just how simple this really was!

For starters, this is a FREE app. Lovely, right?!?! In order to have a successful experience as I did, do a little prep ahead of time. What do I mean? Figure out your pictures that you want included in your book, upload them to Shutterfly.com so you have them accessible via the app quickly. However, if you don’t have them uploaded, or you want to make a photo book from your Instagram account, Facebook Account or your photos on your phone, you can do THAT too! It gives the option.

A couple more cool points…

  • You can even edit the pictures IN the app with a tap on the picture, you can even crop the picture.
  • Removing a pictures is easy too! Tap at the top for a drop down to appear, voila!
  • If you have Promo Codes, you can use those too within the app.
  • When you get your printed copy, there is a QR code on it.  Scan that and you can see the book and hear all the recorded message.  Technology I tell ya! 🙂
  • They have the autofill option in addition to manual organization for your pictures.  I used Autofill for this book and did a little tweaking.  LOVED it!!

Last, in this world or technology, everyone wants to share everything!  You have that option directly from the app!  You can share via email and Facebook when your book is complete.  Tap and share!  But before you share, I have a VERY cool feature.  When you are creating, you can add sound!  WHAT?!?! 🙂 You could even add that to each page to “tell” your own story.  But you can’t be too wordy, you only have :30 seconds.  So cool, right?  In addition, obviously you can print your book for your personal use too 🙂

Overall, I think this app is phenomenal.  I didn’t have any challenges creating my book.  I was able to enter promo codes, change addresses, change book styles, pictures, layouts and every you can do on the Shutterfly.com site.  Only this time I did it on my couch instead of my computer chair.  This is beyond awesome for those who are on the go, but have wait time when you get where you are going. Anytime, Anywhere! In my case, a little prep ahead of time to upload my pictures to the Shutterfly.com site, and boom…I’m ready!  This can be done with no internet connection by the way.  Go ahead, click…

Shutterfly is my favorite for preserving our family memories! I’ve already downloaded the ap and I L.O.V.E it – now need to teach the grandparents how to open and read/listen to the books LOL! The kids are excited to be able to narrate “their” stories and I love how I’ll get their little voices telling the stories about our activities/trips/sports/celebrations!!

I have used the app and love that I can add pictures I have taken while in vacation to my mom’s account. I can easily upload on my ipad and edit the pics and then my mom can start doing her work. She used to have to wait till I returned and visited her at home to do this
