show mom some love with a bedeckle headband :: matching mother & daughter headbands {giveaway & hair tutorial video}

bedeckled [bih-dek-led]: sparklingly ornamented; to deck out; adorn, especially in a showy or gaudy manner.  Have I caught your attention yet?

In honor of Mother’s Day, Bedeckle’s owner, Shyla, is giving away matching mother & daughter headbands. I’m in a slight crisis mode about hitting my 30’s, and possibly over compensating by accessorizing. However, when I wear my Bedeckle headband, I just plain feel happy.  I think my addiction began when I had Annabelle. I made her wear huge bows from Shyla’s other shop, Brown Eyed Girlies. I was jealous until Bedeckle came along and made it okay for me to wear fun headbands too!

The child’s headband is elastic.  I’ve tried to teach Annabelle that beauty can be painful, but this headband is very comfortable.  My headband has a beautiful silver band.  It fits great! These are very high quality and well made hair accessories.

I tried to capture the headband when my hair was straight and curled. Straight isn’t an option for Annabelle. We’re just glad she has hair. Poor thing was bald the first two years of her life.

I wanted to make this post extra special so I put together an amateur video of how I curled my hair with my Conair straightener and bedeckled the look with my headband. For those of you that read my Conair post, this is an updated video!  I’m hoping it will inspire you to be your fabulous looking self you once were before kids, for at least a small period of time. Goobered clothes and wet pony tails are fine too, but it is nice to feel human once in a while.

Bedeckle Headband :: $24.95
Brown Eyed Girlies Headband :: $16.95

From Shyla: There is something really special about creating a unique piece. There is something even more exciting about having someone wear a piece you’ve created with careful detail. Bedeck yourself in these one of a kind pieces.

    Thank you for the giveaway! And the video. Didn’t know you could do that with a flat iron! Thought it had to be a curling iron! 🙂 Do you use product in your hair? 🙂

      You are very welcome. I don’t use any product in my hair! I will admit my hair curls well, but the softer it is (like no hairspray) the better the straightener glides through my hair to curl it. I don’t even have to spray it after I’m done. It stays!!!
