riding safely in style with the new argos 80 elite from graco :: review

imageMy babies (if I can still call them that) have been using Graco car seats since the day each of them came home from the hospital. We went through the normal progression of growth and upgrades to a rear-facing car seat and then forward facing seats as well.

The last time we needed to upgrade car seats was right when my eldest outgrew the first forward facing car seat she was in. After doing some research I decided on one of Graco’s 3-in-1 car seats that would allow her to be in a 5-point-harness for as long as possible. We loved her new seat so much that within a week we had a matching model for my second daughter as well. My oldest just turned 7 yesterday and until one last growth spurt hits and puts her over the shoulder strap limits she still fits into the 5-point-harness!

imageFor many reasons, I have recommended Graco and their 3-in-1 car seats to anyone looking for a good car seat solution for kiddos in the appropiate size/age range. Can I tell you how excited I am to share the newest Graco 3-in-1 car seat with our readers?!? Seriously, the new Graco Argos 80 Elite 3-in-1 Harness Booster would be an easy purchase choice for either of my girls if I needed to buy them a new car seat again.

Just like my old 3-in-1 model the Argos 80 Elite allows you to transition from a forward facing 5-point harness to a highback booster and then finally to a backless booster depending on the height and weight of your child. Did you know that the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) recommends that children remain in a point harness as long as possible? The Argos 80 Elite accommodates their 5-point harness for children up to 80 lbs., making it much easier to stick with that recommendation.

Another couple points about this newest Graco model that I love is that the car seat comes standard with their new improved buckle (no dealing with the buckle recall) and if you are using a seatbelt for installation instead of the latch system there is a shoulder belt lock off!

The last all important point I have to make is that the Argos 80 Elite has a removable, machine washable seat cover. Potty training accidents, sick kids, food, spilled drinks, and just the daily dirt that kids pick up are so much easier to clean when the washing machine does it for you!
