ridge outdoor gear :: camping hammock with mosquito net :: giveaway

disclaimer giveaway

Did you have a nice Labor Day Weekend? It always feels like the last slice of summer. Did anyone go camping? If so, I’ve got a hammock to talk about that I know you will want to take on your next adventure.

Do you ever see a product and think, “Wow, how absolutely clever that someone thought of that!”? A few months ago I saw a photo of my adorable sister in law in this really cool hammock. She was for sure living her best camping life. I had to know more about where she got such a cool hammock.

Turns out, the clever someone that created this hammock with a mosquito net was Ridge Outdoor Gear. This hammock is now providing a peaceful place in our backyard.
back yard hammock time
As much as we love to sit outside in the evening, we are often carried away by mosquitos. This hammock has provided a safe haven where I can read my book after the hot sun goes down. We are all enjoying it and doing our best to take turns. Annabelle rigged her battery operated lantern so she could read even longer.

evening in a hammock

If you like to camp, you could really use this hammock. It’s very easy to hang between two trees, folds up compactly, it’s light weight, and it keeps the ‘squitos away.
hammock folds into it's own pouch
We spent some time in Michigan this summer and found a really great lookout spot to hang it where we could see the lake and the sunset. It was in the middle of the woods so you know the mosquito net was appreciated.

I should also mention that this hammock is also great without the net. You know, if you want a clear view of the fly fishing show or if it’s a time of day that you don’t need bug protection. That’s why they call it a 2 in 1 hammock. The photo below is my brother fly fishing and his wife watching.

It’s so easy to hang! You just need two trees folks. They can be pretty far apart too, the straps make it very easy to adjust and hang properly. You’ll have it hung in a snap, especially if you guess your strap length right the first time. We typically have ours hung in a minute or less.ridge outdoor gear hammock
Now that you know about this self-contained hammock, you want one too, right? Or maybe you are looking for a gift idea for your mother-in-law who loves to hike and camp.  Oh wait, that’s me! It’s available on Amazon (affiliate link) for $49.96 or their website. Maybe you should throw it on your Amazon wishlist while you’re thinking about it.

We did house work! My husband spent much of the weekend underneath our house installing jacks for the floor joists, while I cleaned the house and reorganized our guest room for upcoming visits. We did take some downtime on Monday to grill burgers and binge watch some HBO series. It wasn’t the most fun weekend, but it was productive and relaxing!
