This mat is so awesome and easy to use. Whether you are at the beach, at the park or just at home in the backyard you can use the monkey mat. The Monkey Mat™ is a water repellant product. It can resist “spillage” on the mat (which beads up easily to be wiped right off), but cannot prevent some seep-through when placed on a completely wet surface (as waterproof would). Their unique custom fabric is treated to be water repellant while still feeling soft to the touch, and is of course safe from harmful chemicals.
As you can see this mat comes in several colors. It is a very silky material so I really thought to myself I wasn’t sure how it was going to stay in place while using it. There are loops for extra grounding and the corners are weighted so it stays in
place very nicely. I love how thin the material is and easily fits back into it’s pouch that is attached. While sitting on the mat there are 4 loops that you can attach toys to for the baby to play with.
Unfortunately, the weather hasn’t been that great for us to go to the beach and try it out. We have used it for a picnic in the backyard and it was perfect. If your mat gets dirty you can just stick it in the washer because it is machine washable. The mat is quite large at 5 foot by 5 foot and very easily can fit a family of 5-6 on it.
