The older my children get, the more I’m learning that it’s easier if I don’t do everything for them. It’s good for them and me if they practice some independence. With that said, I’m really excited about this product. Pixie Splitz are shoe inserts that help your child know if they are putting their shoes on the correct feet. Genius! If the animal has a head and tail in the correct order then they know their shoes are on right.

Quick plug, Annabelle’s shoes pictured were also reviewed on The Simple Moms HERE. They are a great pair of shoes that she can put on herself and they have good support.

This is a start up company that hopes to be shipping out their product in December. You can pre-order your designs for $10 (includes shipping). You can reuse them as your kids grow too.

From the inventor, Tammy Selix:  I have worked at a child development center for the past 6 years, and have observed this dilemma among young children. Children like to be independent, therefore this causes frustration.This can be time consuming for parents and caretakers of little independents! I began to observe closer when the children would choose a shoe, it was simply a guessing game! There is no indication from a child’s viewpoint to have the cognitive ability for order when putting on shoes! Shoes are not kid friendly!

  9. Tammy (the inventor) works at my child’s daycare, and when she shared this idea with me, I realized it’s GENIUS! I have a 3 yr old daughter who can do so many things on her own, but putting her shoes on the right feet was almost impossible until Tammy’s inserts. My daughter likes the monkey best.
