Learning a Foreign Language with Little Pim

Tengo orgullo que puedo hablar español como segunda lengua. (Translation: I am proud to be able to speak Spanish as as second language.) But, learning Spanish did not come easy to me and I always wished I had been able to start language classes before high school.

Simply because of the difficulties I had learning a second language, I had long ago decided to start teaching my kids a foreign language at a much earlier age. Until I found Little Pim, I never realized how early that could be.

I was going to write my own description of what Little Pim is and how it works… until I read their blurb about those very things and my description suddenly became horribly long-winded and inadequate.

Little Pim is an award-winning foreign language immersion DVD series for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. We currently offer three theme-based DVDs that use our unique Entertainment Immersion Method™, which combines animation and real kids, teaching simple words and phrases for everyday activities. Each program is available individually or in a discounted three-disc set. Currently we offer Spanish, French, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Hebrew, English (ESL), German, Arabic, and Russian.

Every day now, I get asked, “Mom, can we watch Little Pim?” “Sure.” I love that Little Pim (the cartoon panda) has made learning Spanish fun for the my 3 year old and easy for me!

It also has worked out great that the DVD is sectioned into seven five-minute episodes. These short episodes make it easy for even my 11 month old baby to sit, watch, and learn before her attention span is spent. 🙂

GET YOUR OWN!!! Visit the Little Pim website to order your own Little Pim DVDs, flash cards, gift sets, digital downloads and even iPhone apps!!! If you you are unsure which language would be the best fit for your child, Little Pim has a short quiz that can help you choose. (Short as in only four questions.)
