learn to play the piano at home for FREE with hoffman academy online piano lessons + giveaway

hoffmanlogoThis year we decided to start my daughter in piano lessons.  She loves music and has a keyboard that she loves to tinker with.  But for a variety of reasons, piano lessons didn’t work out for her.  Her instructor moved too quickly for her and we were constantly rushing after school to get to piano.  Then the boys and I would sit in the car for the 30 minutes of her lesson.  When the teacher decided that her teaching style wasn’t a good fit for my daughter, I decided to find something that would work better for her and for our family.  We ended up deciding to do online piano lessons with Hoffman Piano Academy.

002I was looking for lessons that really started from the most basic concepts so my daughter can learn the proper posture, techniques, ear training and sight reading.  I also wanted something that allowed her to move through lessons at her own pace, whether that means doing a lesson each day or repeating a lesson several times until she understands.  And, last but not least, I was looking for something affordable.

I was so thankful to find lessons that met my criteria and are not only affordable–they are free!  There are 100 free lessons online–and they are adding to that library of lessons.  You can go online and take these lessons anytime.  The only fee involved is if you choose to order accompanying lesson materials.  These materials include mp3 downloads of songs, sheet music, instructions and a parent guide all available for an instant download at less than $1 per lesson.  Which means my daughter can have 20 lessons and all of the needed materials for less than the cost of one traditional piano lesson.

004We have found that the lessons are perfect for my elementary age daughter.  In fact, I’m going to start my 7-year-old son on the program as well.  Since it can be done from home, we are able to complete the lessons without blocking off huge chunks of time to drive to lessons and without the cost of lessons.  And Hoffman Academy lessons are all taught by Master of Music Joseph Hoffman who has worked for years to develop his own method of teaching piano.  And at 5-10 minutes each, my fidgety kids are able to stay focused easily on the lessons. Lessons include playing the piano as well as completing practice worksheets to work on rhythm, sight reading and other important skills.

Check out what Hoffman Academy has to offer and try some free lessons for yourself or your children!

I like that it won’t just teach them to play but also to write and create music! Dd would love this! My mom has attempted to teach her but she would lose interest within 10 minutes! Plus dd doesn’t take well to being corrected well when SHE thinks she is doing it right! LOL

I love that this course would work for everyone — child or adult. I really like the professionalism and passion behind Mr. Hoffman’s course. It’s also great that the lessons are free for everyone, you pay only for books, but even that is not obligatory.
