annwilliamslogoMy kids love to craft. We even have a “craft room” in our house with a desk full of crafting supplies–paper, markers, beads, scissors, etc. We spend a lot of time in that craft room. But we don’t often delve beyond basic coloring, cutting and a few very basic rainbow looms. Even with my help, some of the craft kits for kids take all afternoon–and my 2-year-old doesn’t often sit still for 5 minutes–much less all afternoon.

loopdeloo-rightI was so excited to find about the fun and {simple} craft kits from Ann Williams Group. I spied the Loopdedoo at some boutiques and craft stores around town (see where they are sold here) but didn’t realize how simple it made bracelet making. The Loopdedoo is a spinning tool (complete with drawer for storing your gear–amen to that!) that does not need batteries (huge plus for us) and comes with everything you need to get started making bracelets. It’s recommended for kids 8 and up, but my just-turned-7-year-old son was able to get the hang of it, too.

On our recent half-day of school, we spent the afternoon making string art on foam canvases. Each of my older children chose a design and got to work pushing in pins. Once they had their design, I helped them tie on their string and they started twisting the string around the pins. My 8-year-old did fine on her own. My 7-year-old wanted help (though I actually think he would have done fine on his own as well). This kit is recommended for kids ages 10 and up. I actually think this would even be fun for a moms night in. It was kind of therapeutic stringing those push pins!

IMG_4304Ann Williams Group was started by an engineer (and mom–you know I love a mom-owned business). Named after her two children, Ann Williams Group makes innovative craft kits that make crafting easier and faster for kids. In 2012, Sheila created the Loopdeloo after watching her daughter struggle to make a friendship bracelet. She used her engineering mind to create the Loopdedoo. Loopdedoo won five toy of the year awards and left consumers wanting more. Sheila has since made so many more craft kits. While the kids are inspired by her children, they are designed to bring out the kid in all of us.  Check out all of the great kits Ann Williams Group has to offer!
