it’s “recess” time with justin roberts :: review and giveaway

School is starting up again (honest-to-goodness, I actually saw that a friend of mine on Facebook had the first day of school for her kids this week!) and that means kids everywhere are looking forward to recess.

For music loving fans there’s a new Recess of a completely different nature that’s ready right now from Justin Roberts, in the form of a fun new pop music album for kids!

It’s beyond refreshing to have found a kids pop music album that is appropriate for my 5-year-old and her little sister to listen to without worrying about any “oh baby, oh baby, oh baby” lyrics.

Instead my girls sang along with Justin Roberts to “i’ll be an alien” about how they will, well… “be an alien” and then I heard them belting out that “we’ll make it top notch… when we do hopscotch” along with the fun song “Hopscotch“.

There’s a couple surprises like the slower but still catchy “looking for trains” and “red bird” and at first you think that “the princess wore pink” will be another slower tempo song until about 25 seconds in where things start bopping along.

Recess is a fun album for kids heading back to school, kids with imaginations, or moms who need another album to add into the carpool lane tune rotation.
