it’s december 1st, won’t you #dressember with me? {#‎itsbiggerthanadress‬}

dressember it's bigger than a dressWearing a dress to help raise awareness about human trafficking? Yes, it’s really that simple!

When you wear a dress, and it’s not your norm, don’t people make comments?

“What’s the occasion?”

“Where are you going”

How simple would it be to answer the question with, no where! Wear a dress this December to help raise awareness to human trafficking…

Dressember is a collaborative movement

leveraging fashion and creativity

to restore dignity to all women.

Dressember uses fashion to advocate for women who’ve been exploited for their femininity. As women take on the creative challenge of wearing a dress for the 31 days of December, they are advocating for the inherent dignity of all women.

Anyone can join — and you can fund-raise as well for the cause! Want to join me?

Donations to the Dressember 2015 campaign will support the work of International Justice Mission and A21, two human rights organizations that are bringing rescue and freedom to victims of slavery, sex trafficking and other forms of violent oppression. Learn more about IJM and read about A21 here.

Yesterday, on the Dressember Facebook page, they posted this…

The heart of Dressember is dignity. We believe all people are born with the inherent right to freedom and a dignified life.
Last year, #‎Dressember‬ advocates raised enough to fund over 100 rescue operations, which each involve anywhere from 1 to 500 survivors. What that means is that last year’s campaign raised enough to impact anywhere from 100 to 50,000 people!

    What a wonderful cause and it definitely is bigger than a dress, I can’t believe the statistics of how many rescue operation from this movement. I hardly ever wear a dress and I’d love to join the challenge!
