is teething leading to feeding and sleep issues? pouchpop to the rescue! :: review and giveaway

disclaimer giveaway
Hello gals! I was all set to review this item with my toddler, but when my friend Anne told me that her kiddo was having sleeping problems because she wasn’t eating solids due to teething, I suggested that she try an apple sauce pouch, and handed her a pouch topped with a PouchPop… here’s how it turned out, in Anne’s words:
PouchPop Collage 2

I don’t know if I have been living under a rock or what, but my children had never had a baby food or snack pouch. My 3 1/2 year old was just introduced to them not too long ago and loves them for the treat and novelty, but I never thought to give my 8 month old baby food with them. Then came teething. In only a few short days it seemed, both top teeth came in and my little lovely refused to take a spoon. She didn’t want it anywhere near her. Without any solids she wanted only me. All day and all night long. This, of course, got old so very quickly.

And then it was the PouchPop topper to the rescue! Jess popped one of these babies on an apple sauce pouch and in no time at all, my kiddo was eating! She ate the whole pouch that afternoon and part of another and… slept through the night!

The PouchPop topper also taught her how to use a straw. She now enjoys her sippy sup of water throughout the day. And, for a little girl who has refused a bottle, this might be a way to get her to take some bottled breast milk so mama can have a date night with daddy!

Let me say it again… PouchPop topper to the rescue!!!

But in all seriousness, this little brilliant contraption has changed feeding (and sleeping!) in our home. The PouchPop topper has given my little one feeding independence. She loves feeding herself at the table and although she ends up with some all over herself, always finished her meal with a smile on her face and a full belly.

P.S. This PouchPop video is super clever:

The PouchPopTM allows for a natural transition from bottle to food, teaches self-feeding and best of all it takes the “ouch out of the pouch”! Created by a father of three after observing his youngest son struggle with the standard baby food pouch straw, the PouchPop provides a more soothing and less messy feeding solution. The PouchPop is made with safe hospital grade silicone and is naturally BPA free. The convenient, universal fit is easy to use and reuse.

it’s so simple, what a wonderful idea! I would much prefer to give pouch food to my son this way… and I can totally appreciate the lack of struggle with an independent one year old who wants to feed himself. If I don’t win, I’ll definitely buy!
