My kids start school in t minus 5 days and I am knee deep in bags of Back To School gear and supplies and lists of things we need to do and things we have yet to get. Because, despite my best efforts, I am that procrastinating mom who put everything off to the week before. {hanging head in shame}

The good news is that there is still hope for me this school year…thanks to these handy dandy little labels called FinderCodes.

FinderCodes School

It’s inevitable, my kids will lose things this school year. A jacket left on the playground. A water bottle forgotten at soccer practice. Library books left on the bus. Shoes…ok, that one just baffles me! I still do not understand how my kids can lose their shoes! But, alas.

In the past we’ve used these adorable name labels, which we love, but this year my oldest asked, “Mom, do we need to put labels on my stuff?”

She’s teetering into the world of that’s for babies or I’m too old for that! FinderCodes are our middle ground this year!

With a slightly more grown-up look (but still super fun), these labels feature a QR code that, when found, helps the finder anonymously contact the owner from their smartphone or computer.

In a kit like the Kid Stuff Lost & Found Kit you’ll receive 2 small tags (great for back packs, duffle bags or cameras), 2 adhesive dino tags, 2 adhesive alien tags, and 2 power cord adhesive tags. So far we have my daughter’s back pack, soccer cleats, InnoTab and power cord all tagged and ready for all of our Fall craziness!

Oh, here’s the other pretty cool thing about the FinderCodes: I actually love that the tags do not show my kids’ names! Because they don’t show their names on them, I’m not worried about those items falling into the wrong hands and being used to lure them in to any danger. And, when those soccer cleats get passed down to little sister next year, we can still use that same tag. No “but mom!!! it has Abbi’s name on it!”

The FinderCodes are very simple to set up and come in a variety of kits with tons of uses — pet tags, school kits without the aliens or dino characters, smaller tags perfect for your phone or camera, and {coming soon} tags for all that baby gear!

So, while we may be starting off the school year a little disheveled and will probably be running around this weekend to get more ‘last minute’ stuff, I can rest easy knowing we’re doing what we can to still have all this some of this Back To School gear come back in June!
