healthy, organic, homemade, family-friendly meals bring back the joy to cooking at home + a giveaway!

disclaimer giveaway
How many of you love planning meals, grocery shopping and crossing your fingers that the meals you chose are going to be “kid-approved”? I’m guessing there’s not too many of you raising your hands here. I really think that’s why homecooked meals are becoming a thing of the past. It’s not really the cooking–it’s everything else that goes into it! So, we all end up with a repertoire that resembles something like spaghetti, tacos, pizza and maybe a meal or two out. What if I told you that your family could be eating SO. MUCH. BETTER with LESS effort on your part?

I am a huge fan of family dinner. Of course there might be days when it just won’t work, but my family tries our best to have dinner together most nights of the week. Research shows that family dinners are good for the spirit, the brain and the body. Increased vocabulary for toddlers, higher GPAs and self-esteem in teens and so many more benefits just for eating together as a family. I’ve been thrilled to discover Green Chef as a feasible way to put healthy, organic meals on the table for my family–even my youngest with a host of food allergies.

I introduced you to Green Chef last year (here) and it even made our Best Of list (here). To say we are huge fans is an understatement.  Since  last told you about Green Chef, they have started a family plan.  YES! A plan that is kid=friendly without being predictable.  Sick of Taco Tuesday?  Switch it up with some of the amazing meals from Green Chef.  This past week, my family enjoyed BBQ chicken with sweet potato fries and cabbage and green apple salad.  We also absolutely loved Greek pasta and meatballs with olives, artichokes, feta cheese and walnut gremolata.  I’m telling you, friends, just having these options for two meals a week makes my meal plans so much easier!  The shopping is already done for you.  The recipes are already tested and the recipe cards give you step by step instructions (WITH PICTURES!) to make the meal simply and in about 30 minutes. Just look at the pictures here!  So much more color (and nutrients!) than the chicken nuggets and cheese quesadillas that might make their way onto your table.

One thing that I love about Green Chef is the detailed ingredient list that includes food allergen alerts.  My youngest was able to eat the whole BBQ chicken meal with a simple substitution for his salad dressing. And he was able to enjoy the pasta and meatballs without the feta and walnut gremolata.  When a company only tells me that the allergen is present in the food but doesn’t tell me where it’s present, I have to assume the entire meal is unsafe.  So love how detailed Green Chef is in this area!

A SIMPLE GIVEAWAY

Green Chef sent me a card for a free box that I’d love to share with one of our readers.  You must be willing to pay shipping ($9) and must be a new Green Chef customer.
