emergency go bags :: guardian elite 2 person survival kit {coupon}

If you read the title for this post and your first reaction was, “Uhhhhh… what?” I’ll start with a small explanation.  Unless you live under a rock you’re well aware that there are disasters that occur from time to time.  Some of the most recent that come to mind are the wildfires in Colorado, floods in Russia, and high number of tornadoes this spring in the Midwest.

Whether it be hurricanes or blizzards, wildfires or floods, when a disaster occurs it’s good to be prepared.  I’d rather prepare for the worst and pray I never have need to use it than face a last minute run to the local superstore along with every other person in a 100-mile radius.

Just about every level of government and government agency has emergency preparedness guidelines.  The Guardian Elite 2 Person Survival Kit from Emergency Go Bags is a great place to start for making your own perfect “we need to flee the house” kit.

This kit weighs 17 lb. but that didn’t seem like much when I really thought about it (even my 2-year-old weighs more than that). When you take into consideration inside the backpack all the items listed HERE are already packed in resealable plastic bags, it’s a pretty sweet set up.

On the outside of the backpack there is a tag with the expiration dates for any items in the kit that expire.  There is also extra space for personal items you may want to add like a phone charger, some cash, diapers, formula, or copies of medical information & other important documents.

Personally I’ll either be using a zip drive or some memory cards to back up all our family photos to add to our kit along with anything else that is really irreplaceable if our house was… well, destroyed.

I just have to share that the wonderful people at Emergency Go Bags also donate a portion of every sale to Canine Support Teams :: PAWZ FOR WOUNDED VETERANS program, which provides disabled Veterans with a specially trained service dog.  How cool is that!?!
