“dinosaur train: meeting new friends” dvd review

disclaimer no giveaway
My children love the Dinosaur Train!  This PBS series has been apart of our lives since the beginning, and it’s probably because I am partial to Jim Henson.  As a child I grew up watching Fraggle Rock, and I have even borrowed it from the public library for my children to watch.  This PBS series encourages adoption, Buddy the T-Rex, was adopted into the Pteranodon family as one of their own.  These videos teach our children about pre-historic times in a way that they will never even know that they are learning.  My four-year-old son can name more dinosaurs than I can.  What more can you ask for when your child is eager to learn?

“MEETING NEW FRIENDS,” featuring eight episodes from the popular PBS KIDS’ series DINOSAUR TRAIN, from The Jim Henson Company. Children will join the Pteranodon family as they meet new friends on the trail of the Dinosaur Train. Follow along as the Pteranodons help two new friends find their way back home, meet a Tyrannosaur who has similar features to Buddy, teach the Dilophosaurus twins to work together, hang out with a 40-foot crocodile, and much more!

The five-time Emmy-nominated DINOSAUR TRAIN, created by Craig Bartlett (“Hey Arnold!”), is set in a whimsically realistic, prehistoric world of jungles, swamps, active volcanoes and oceans. Each day, DINOSAUR TRAIN helps kids ages 3 to 6 apply scientific thinking as they discover new types of dinosaur species, compare and contrast dinosaurs to today’s creatures and embrace the living sciences of paleontology and natural science. DINOSAUR TRAIN airs weekdays on PBS KIDS (check local listings).

“DINOSAUR TRAIN: MEETING NEW FRIENDS,” ($12.99 SRP) will be available on DVD June 12, 2018 and has a run time of approximately 88 minutes. Episodes of Dinosaur Train are also available for digital download.

This DVD includes eight exciting episodes: Rafting the Cretaceous, Stop and Smell the Flowers, Double-Crested Trouble, Tiny and the Crocodile, Triassic Turtle, Tiny’s Tiny Friend, Beating the Heat and Hootin’ Hadrosaurs!

Dinosaur Train

I can honestly say that my children loved this jammed packed DVD, and want to watch it over and over again when we are in the car.  This is one time that they are allowed to watch television without argument. My son loves Buddy, I think it’s because he knows that Buddy is different. It’s amazing what our children and pick up on just by watching.

Which dinosaur from the Pteranodon family is your child’s favorite?
