Gluten Free Chex Oatmeal collage

Gluten Free Chex Oatmeal packet trio collageWhether it is for personal reasons, allergies, behavioral modification, a gluten intolerance, or Celiac disease, there are many people whom I personally know that are on a gluten free diet. While my family is not by any stretch of the imagination on a gluten free diet, I am thankful to see the gluten free food options have come a LONG way since 20+ years ago when one of my school friends with Celiac disease had to rely on a steady diet of rice cakes for her lunch.

Case in point: did you know that General Mills Big G has come out with a new line of Gluten Free Chex Oatmeal?

Apple Cinnamon Gluten Free Chex Oatmeal close upI tried my first bowl of the Apple Cinnamon flavor Gluten Free Check Oatmeal from my variety pack I was impressed at how tasty the oatmeal was. (Just in case you were wondering, the Variety Pack also contains Mable Brown Sugar and Original flavors.) I was also impressed by the ingredient list, rather what wasn’t there. No artificial colors, artificial flavors, preservatives, or high-fructose corn syrup!

Beyond the wonderful taste there was another feature on these little packets of instant oatmeal that I was blown away by. The ability to use the pouch as the measuring cup with the handy FILL LINE printed on the back of the pouch. Yes, one less dish to wash, one less gadget to bring, and amazingly easy for even kids to use.

Gluten Free Chex Oatmeal life hackEven though we aren’t a gluten free family, thanks to this handy option, I will now be packing some Gluten Free Chex Oatmeal for trips where I need quick and healthy snacks/meal options for my kids!

Another great piece of excitement for me is that the Original flavor is available in a 16 oz. package. This is perfect for making baked oatmeals, cobblers, breakfast bars, cookies, and any other recipe to share where you may have someone attending that is on a gluten free diet. I know many friends and fellow moms from my church and school groups who will appreciate another option they can enjoy at our get togethers!Gluten Free Chex Oatmeal Original flavor 16 oz

Gluten Free Chex is available at Kroger and select Target stores. If you don’t see it at your local store yet make sure to ask that they start carrying it!

We have it at Safeway too. And honestly I’m so impressed by the list of normal ingredients that I’ll buy this for the whole family for our next camping trip rather than the other stuff that has 25 unpronounceable ingredients! (We have some GF family members)
