One of the perks about living in the country in Michigan is that we can pretty much keep our windows open all summer and avoid turning on the air conditioning. Sure, there are a few days that we’ll turn on the AC…just to make sure it’s still working, of course 😉 But overall, the breeze through the windows and our ceiling fans keep us comfortable through even some of the warmest summer days.
And, thanks to Hunter Fan’s new SIMPLEconnect programmable control, I know we can make sure our ceiling fan is on when we need it and off when we don’t! Even when we’re not home!!
SIMPLEconnect works in three simple steps:
1. Download the SIMPLEconnect app
Available for free in the App Store and on Google Play, the app is compatible with smartphones running iOS 7.1 or higher or Android 4.3 or higher. The app is what you’ll use to do all the fancy stuff like set your fan lights to turn on, control your fan and light from anywhere in your house, and even set a sleep-timer on the fan!
2. Plug in the Bluetooth controller
Again, super simple! All you need to do is plug this little box into an outlet. Done!
3. Install the receiver in the fan
A little more labor intensive than the first two steps but still pretty easy! Just follow the steps in the included instructions or check out the instruction videos on Hunter Fan’s YouTube channel. I think our biggest struggle was setting up the ladder to reach our ceiling fan! Vaulted ceilings are nice but, yowzers! That’s a lot way up there. Thankfully I was on top of my game and had my hubby dust the fan and change the light bulbs while he was up there 😉
The whole process is pretty quick and simple (thus the name)!
The best part is that the SIMPLEconnect works with all major brands of ceiling fans with pull chains. No need to purchase a new fan. Unless you’re in the market for a new fan, which is totally great, too!
And, with the SIMPLEconnect app, you can schedule when your fan will turn on and off, set a sleep timer, and even set the fan lights to turn on at random times while your away to help keep intruders away.

I think that it is real cool that yo can program one or more fans around your schedule from one control.
I think the coolest feature is that you can use scheduling! Which is especially perfect when you’re trying to rush out the door.
