channel your inner air huntress with zing toys :: review and giveaway

You may or may not have heard of this small unknown book and film series called The Hunger Games. And I may or may not be counting down the days until the release of the movie Catching Fire. Seriously….why do they torture us with making us wait a year and eight months between movies???

While my girls are no where near old enough to read The Hunger Games series or see the films, they are still all about being fierce and awesome and have been begging for a bow & arrows for forever {I blame Disney and Merida for this one}. We’ve kept them bay telling them that a bow just wouldn’t work where we lived. There’s just nowhere for you to shoot it here,  I would say. But, now that we’re living on 10 acres of wooded bliss, they’re starting to poke holes in my excuses.

At some point they’ll get my true reason why I’m not ready for them to have a bow :: {channeling my inner A Christmas Story} You’ll shoot your eye out!  Or each other’s eye out or something horrible. So, until they day they turn 25 and I cave and buy them their very own bow and arrows, I think they’re pretty happy with our compromise :: The Air Huntress Z-Bow from Zing Toys!

To call it a “compromise” is completely unfair because the Air Huntress Z-Bow is awesome! It’s pink and purple {obviously} which scored big points with Zoe and the included Zonic Whistle Arrow and Zartz Suction Cup Arrow are sturdy enough to zoom through the air but not hurt when they accidentally hit someone, which scored big points with me. The arrows are also very easy to hoot into the sling-shot type loops, making it easy for both girls to keep the arrow steady while they work on pulling the arrows back and aiming.

Abbi just loves that she gets to practice her aim and is working hard to get her arrows to go further and further each time. I love that it challenges her and yet she can still be a kid, imagining all sorts of games and pretend worlds where she’s the rescuer. A great way to keep her wanting to play even while she’s outgrowing the world of dolls.

As the girls get older, the girls will be able to move on to the Air Huntress Zingshot and Z-Curve Bow! But don’t worry, the girls don’t get to have all the fun! Talon is working hard with dad to take on the girls with his own Z-Bow from Zing’s Air Hunterz line. It’s the same great product but not pink (great for boys or girls who just aren’t into pink).

The kids have already had so much fun with their Z-Bows and I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve heard “I AM MERIDA!”
