Energizer is the only brand that we use in our house. It is most reliable and I trust it.
Has this year flown by or what? I seriously can not believe it is going to be November. This time of year is when we do Daylight Savings, yup it’s November 3rd…are you ready for it? You know what that means….Change your clocks, change your batteries.
It’s also that time of year when Energizer, the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and fire departments nationwide join forces for the Change Your Clock Change Your Battery® program to raise awareness of the importance of working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in helping to keep families safe in their homes. This is the 26thyear for the annual program and the message is still an important one.
Did you know, thirty-eight percent of fatal fire injuries occur in homes with no smoke alarms, while 24 percent occur in homes in which at least one smoke alarm is present but fails to operate, frequently due to dead or missing batteries.
Every year we change our clocks back we also change our batteries. It just habit now. Make it a good habit for your own family too.
Get this:
From now through November 3, visit the Energizer Bunny® Facebook page and click on the Fire Safety Info Tab. Here you will have the chance to enter a sweepstakes to win an additional Family Safety Kit. Energizer will be giving away one Family Safety Kit per day. Contained in the kit, valued at more than $167.
This post is to remember to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors when you set your clocks back – it could help save a life.

I change them every spring, but they do get ‘tested’ periodically – usually when a pie bubbles over in the oven, lol
We probably should, but we don’t.
We do! Our smoke alarms are hardwired together, if one foes off, they all do. Needless to say, we make sure the batteries do not die. We learned the hard way….CHAOS.
We change our smoke detector batteries with the time change; for safety.
I live in an apt so they change them twice a yr when they check the smoke detector. Thank you 🙂

No I am really bad about changing my batteries. I wait until it stops completely and then change them! It does makes sense to chage them when you change the time though so you don’t have to keep taking it down.
We do it with every time change.
We do it every time change.
I do at my rental properties because I have someone hired to do it. Never have time to do it at home.

Ah nope. We change the batteries when the low-battery ‘chirp’ starts. CHanging with the clocks seems like a much better plan.
