bring your kitchen into the 21st century with the orange chef company :: review and giveaway

orange chefI am not the world’s foremost cooking expert. In fact, I need all the help I can get in the kitchen. Which is why I LOVE cooking with my iPad. I have all of my favorite cooking sites handy and if I need to google substitutions, it just takes a few quick clicks. But again, I am no cooking expert. So when I cook, food flies. Everywhere. Flying food and expensive techie cooking accessories are not a winning combination. Enter stroke of genius part one: the Chef Sleeve by the Orange Chef Company. A simple plastic case for your iPad to use while cooking so your device does not get covered in egg yolk and flour spatters (at best) or a tidal wave of spilled vegetable oil (at worst). The plastic is thick enough to keep your device safe and thin enough that you are still able to use it as you normally would to scroll through your recipe or put on your favorite cooking music. And the best part is that it’s disposable so when you are done with your culinary masterpiece, you can simply throw the plastic sleeve away. Bye bye mess. Hello kitchen utopia.

Enter stroke of genius part two: a cutting board with a built in stand for your iPad. This is a kitchen game changer. I have been cooking with my iPad for some time now and am constantly moving it around to avoid the mess I create. Now I don’t have to. I just pop my device right into the groove in the cutting board and BAM (sometimes a kitchen gadget review just needs a little Emeril humor, don’t you think?)!! My iPad is both accessible and safe from whatever I might throw at it (literally). It also has a groove all around the outside to catch any meat juices or spilled liquids. Plus it is dishwasher friendly and heat resistant to 350ºF. I have been using mine constantly and it is just the coolest foodie invention ever. Even if you are not a disaster while cooking like me, the ease of use and the ability to have your device at your fingertips make it a must have for your kitchen! IMG_0118

I would love to give this to my mother in law who loves to cook, and uses her i-pad for everything now! It would be a fun thing to have to use in her house, which is where our kids do most of their ‘cooking/experimenting’, to keep her i-pad nice, but still able to be used by the kids for recipes!

I have had to write down recipes just to have the paper get destroyed while I’m in the kitchen. It’s frustrating. This would save me time and hassle and I can have the recipe right in front of me. Thanks!
