brighten their day with lunchbox love :: review

Have yourself a Merry SIMPLE Christmas
logo_lunchbox_love_sayplease-02-simpleI have to admit, I’m in a bit of a rut when it comes to making lunches these days. My kids often get the same things day after day. But one thing I can do to switch up the monotony of a boring (albeit healthy) lunch is by giving my kids a little Lunch Box Love.

002Lunch Box Love Notes by Say Please are colorful, business card-sized notes that fit perfectly in your child’s lunch box, backpack or sports bag so you can tell your kids how much you love them anytime. Each note is different—some are meant to encourage or uplift. A few in each pack are left blank so you can write your own note—maybe an extra special note on a tough test day. And on the back of each card are fun facts or jokes—my kids’ favorite part of Lunchbox Love.

And Lunchbox Love notes aren’t just for kids’ lunchboxes. There are special boxes for teachers to encourage their students, packs for coworkers and packs for teens and adults. The teacher pack will make the perfect accompaniment to the gift card I’ll be giving each of my kids’ teachers.

003Lunchbox Love was started by two moms (a psychotherapist and a journalist) who were looking for ways to encourage their children. Discouraged by the demeaning messages on kids apparel (““My favorite accessory is my dad’s credit card” or ‘‘Boys are stupid”), these moms were able to combine their talents to come up with upbeat phrases and sentiments that, quite simply, make people feel great.

It is scientifically proven that positive thoughts and words have a positive affect on our mental and physical health. Wouldn’t you feel a bit better after reading “You mean the world to me” or “I love your sense of humor”? And I know I’d feel a bit stronger after reading “Stand up for what you believe in” or “I trust you to do the right thing”.

Lunchbox Love notes would make a great gift to yourself or any of your friends who would like to shine a little light in the middle of a child’s day.
