brick loot :: the box for the ultimate brick fan

disclaimer no giveaway

LEGOs….parents have been cursing them and praising them for decades! So much emotion wrapped up in a tiny little building blockĀ  šŸ˜‰

Despite the pain experienced when stepping on those little bricks (seriously, how is it that they are invisible until you step on them?), I adore LEGOs and LEGO style building toys. They are one of the few styles of toys that brings all three of my kids together for hours of play. It’s amazing how a box of connectable building bricks can bridge age and gender gaps!

And the stretching of their imaginations? Amazing! It’s always fun to see what they will create next!

So, when I heard about the new subscription box program that delivers a box of new LEGO style products to your door, we were in!

Brick Loot, like many other monthly subscription box programs, does their research to find the latest and greatest products, assembles them into a nice little box and delivers them right to your door. The cool thing about Brick Loot is that they are all centered around “brick themed” toys (i.e. LEGO style). And…the whole idea was created by a 9 year old (and his parents) and his love for building bricks!

Each month’s contents will vary but they may include:

Our box to sample was a Robot-themed box and included a custom LEGO mini figure — AL B. BACK (a little Terminator fun!), 5 Xerk-Bots that create their own brick robots or can be combined to create the ultimate robot, an Ameno bot, a Laser Peg pendant, and a LiteupBlocks robot lighting kit.

You can sign-up for Brick Loot monthly, for 3 months, or for 6 months. Your subscription renews each month or, if you sign up for the 3 month or 6 month subscription, it will renew at 3 months or 6 months (respectively), but you can cancel at any time (but you won’t want to!). Of course, if you commit to the 3 month or 6 month subscription, you’ll get a discount:

IS IT WORTH IT?

This is a question that I always ask when looking at subscription boxes —Ā If I took the money I’m spending on the subscription, could I get similar or the same products inĀ the store and saveĀ money?Ā

I’ll be honest, $27 + $6 shipping each month on brick toys feels like a lot. It is cool to receive some exclusive products or early release toys or even toys I might not find in our local stores, but my kids aren’t really at an age where that matters to them. They just want a new set of building bricks to explore with. For $33 I could also get them each a building kit from the store.

Of course you lose the fun of the surprise of what’s in the box and having it delivered each month to your door.

As a mom, I think Brick Loot is a really amazing idea! My kids were totally pumped to see a box of LEGO style goodies show up at their door! But I’d really love to see the prices come down closer to the $13-$15 monthly range. Just my honest opinion.
