Philips LogoAs far back as I can remember my youngest daughter has loved brushing her teeth. As soon as she could walk, I was never surprised to find that she had sneaked into the bathroom to brush her teeth while my back was turned. Multiple times. Every day.

Sonicare For Kids and DaniFast forward a couple years and she still loves teeth brushing time. Unfortunately, she had a tendency to get one set of molars really, really clean, and leave the rest of her mouth with a quick once-over.

A little over a week ago she started using the Philips Sonicare For Kids toothbrush and the single spot brushing focus is already a thing of the past. Feeling quite grown-up to have a toothbrush like Mom and Dad she is the first one rushing in to brush her teeth when the time comes.

Because of the stabilized hand piece that prevents the brush from rolling over onto the counter I frequently find that she has already applied toothpaste for herself by the time I make it in to help her. Of course, with a KidTimer (it gradually increases to 2 minutes to train kids to brush for that long!) and a KidPacer (fun sounds to help kids remember to brush the front and back of their upper and lower teeth – you know, their whole mouth) I’m only there to oversee her technique at this point.

Self-Sufficient Brushing with the Philips Sonicare For Kids toothbrush*Sigh* While I knew this day would come, it is a bittersweet feeling to watch my 4-year-old learning to brush her teeth without needing my help. Thanks to her Philips Sonicare For Kids toothbrush I’m hoping we will avoid the massive amount of dental work her 6-year-old sister has already had to have.

Speaking of her sister, a Philips Sonicare For Kids toothbrush is already in the plans so she too can learn to properly brush her teeth. With 8 interchangeable stickers they can each have their own design so we never have to worry about mix-ups or fights. They also offer two different sized brush head to accommodate both big and little mouth sizes.

I no longer worry that my future doctor(s)? Scientist? Olympian? Ninja-Scientist-Artist-Mom? Well, whatever they each decide to be when they are grown, I know I started them on the right path to proper dental hygiene. Score one for this momma! Now to tackle tying their shoes…

I have found that with my kids, an electric toothbrush will help get their teeth cleaner than an ordinary toothbrush.

Wow, that is a really awesome kids’ toothbrush! My kids love brushing their teeth, too, but this goes above and beyond for helping them keep their teeth clean.
