#aSIMPLEchristmas :: playing around with new games from wonder forge :: review

Have yourself a Merry SIMPLE Christmas

Family Game Night doesn’t happen at our house just once a week, we actually have Family Game Night most every night. Instead of watching television or playing electronics before the kids go to bed you can find our family gathered around a table playing that night’s game of choice. With such a tradition game variety is extremely important!

Today I’m going to start sharing some of the new games from Wonder Forge that my family has been having a whole bunch of fun playing with lately. Now, this is post 1 of 2 for the new games I have to share and each post will have two games to share. (The second review will go live next Thursday, the 18th.)

Pictopia Disney Edition Trivia Game box coverFirst up let’s talk about the Pictopia: Disney Edition Trivia Game which is for 2-6 players who are ages 6+. My 7-year-old could probably play on her own and know most of the answers, however, there are some cards where she would be lost without an adult to help. Because our family also includes a 4-year-old Disney trivia master in training we play teams with one adult and one child to avoid fights (which works pretty well).

Families team up in this uniquely collaborative yet competitive trivia game with 1,000 questions covering the World of Disney! During the game, everyone gets a chance to show off their knowledge – from Disney Jr. and Disney XD to the Disney Parks and classic films. Players place wagers based on knowledge of those images, and then work together or on their own, to answer the question.

Dr Seuss Charages gameNext on our list for today is Dr. Seuss™ Charades Game, which is for the younger crowd. Recommended for ages 3+ and 3 or more players (just team up after you’ve used all 4 movers) this was another fun game for our whole family. My 4 and 7 year old both enjoy playing this game with or without Mom & Dad. The Dr. Seuss™ Charades Game is probably my favorite game to watch the kids play as they are VERY literal in acting out the image they chose from their card and it is always hilarious to see how they will convey their message.

In this Seussian twist on the classic game of charades, preschoolers draw a card to act out for their friends. Specially developed for young players, this game uses familiar and whimsical images from the world of Dr. Seuss for silly, laugh out loud fun for everyone!

Remember to check back in next week when I share our thoughts on two more great games from Wonder Forge!
